Wolverines Fall on the Road

Saint Mary's City, Md. - The Women's Basketball team continued their road series as they took on St. Mary's of Maryland Wednesday night. The team fell short of the win 46-50. Angelique Gathers led the Wolverines for the second game in a row with 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Gathers also went 3-for-4 from the free throw line.

Katelyn Watson added nine points and six rebounds while SherVohnia Tolson added seven points to the loss.

The Sea Hawks started scoring off, but Wesley answered back immediately with a jump shot by Tolson. From there the Hawks took control of scoring to go into the second 16-9. Wesley was able to catch up but it was not enough as the Sea Hawks led by four going into the half.

Wesley put up 26 points the second half but that only did so much as the Sea Hawks took the win 50-46.

Wesley shot 34.7 percent from the field, 17.6 percent from behind the arc and 69.2 percent from the free throw line.

The Wolverines will return to Wentworth Gym on Friday for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off against Cairn before heading home for the Holidays.
