Women's Basketball Dominates Cairn, 60-36

Dover, Del. - The Wesley Women's Basketball team returned home to Wentworth Gym Friday and dominated Cairn 60-36. Zariyah Jackson led the Wolverines putting up 12 points, going 5-for-8 from the field and tallying five rebounds. Jourdyn Beverly added nine points and five rebounds, while Bianca Newsom added eights points and seven rebounds to the team win. 

Katelyn Watson also tallied seven rebounds and SherVohnia Tolson found six. 

Watson started scoring for the Wolverines on a layup but Cairn answered back with their own layup. Cairn took the lead the first quarter but the Wolverines came back strong to go up 19-11 with five minutes left in the first half. Wesley ended the first half leading 28-15.

Wesley's scoring continued to increase as they put up 18 more points to Cairns 10 in the third quarter. Wesley put up 14 more points in the fourth to take the win 60-36. 

The Wolverines shot 35.2 percent from the field, 23.1 from behind the arc and 38.9 from the free throw line.

The team will return home to Wentworth Gym in the new year as they take on conference component Marymount on January 8th at 6:00 p.m.
