Wolverines Shut Out Lancaster Bible

Lancaster, Pa. - The Wesley College (1-2) women's lacrosse team cruised to a 20-0 victory over non-conference opponent Lancaster Bible College . The win marks the first victory of the young 2009 season for the Wolverines.

Nine different Wolverines scored in the rout. Leading the way were Stephanie Bailey (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson), Jade Martin (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) and Amanda Browning (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) who netted five, four, and three goals respectively.  Browning also had seven ground balls.

Wesley senior, Leslie Cervenka (Newtown, Pa./Pennsbury) added two goals and five assists in the victory. Alyssa Prudente (Hereford, Md./Hereford) forced four turnovers.

The Wolverines take a lengthy road trip to play at Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) who is currently 0-4. The game is the fourth out of six road games to start the 2009 season. Wesley's first home game will be against CAC rival Mary Washington on March 10th at 4:00 p.m.
