DOVER, Del. - Wesley College scored the final six goals and held Marymount off the scoreboard for the final 15 minutes, but it was not enough to overcome an early deficit in a 15-11 loss.
The Saints (3-7, 2-2 CAC) scored the first five goals of the game before the Wolverines (4-3, 1-1 CAC) got on the board with a score from Katelyn Randes (Odenton, Md./Arundel) with an assist from Mia Brocco (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) with 22:39 left in the first half.
Marymount stretched the lead to 8-2 before back-to-back scores by Jen Jacobs (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) pulled Wesley to within four with 11:28 left in the half.
The Wolverines scored just once more before the intermission and trailed 11-5 at the half. The Saints opened the second half with four more goals and took a 15-5 lead before Brooke Bennett (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) went end to end to start Wesley's game ending run.
Chelsea Buttacavoli (Brick, N.J./Marlboro) and Alyssa Prudente (Hereford, Md./Hereford) scored three goals apiece for the Wolverines, while Brocco dished out three assists. Jacobs and Bennett each scored twice.
Lindsey Quinn finsihed with four goals and an assist for the Saints, while Stephanie Flood scored four goals, as well. Tancy Weatherford scored three goals. Beth Wiggins led the defense with five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Alyssa Batty (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) and Amanda Hudson (Frederica, Del./St. Thomas More) split time in goal for Wesley. Batty stopped four shots, while Hudson added three saves.
Ashley Dodge finished with nine saves for Marymount.
The Wolverines are back in action on Monday, March 29 at Rutgers-Camden.
