CAMDEN, N.J. - The Wesley College women's lacrosse team dominated Rutgers Camden on the way to a 19-3 win in non-conference action.
The Wolverines (5-3) cruised to a 10-1 half time lead against the overmatched Scarlet Raptors (2-3). After Rutgers-Camden scored the game's opening goal, Wesley erupted for 10 straight scores and held the Raptors off the board for nearly 28 minutes.
In the second half, the Wolverines led 12-3 before closing the game with seven straight goals.
Mia Brocco (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) and Alyssa Prudente (Hereford, Md./Hereford) each had three goals and an assist. Brooke Bennett (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) scored three goals and Nina Cornog (Wilmington, Del./Concord) added three assists. In all, 12 different players scored for the Wolverines.
Wesley's 19 goals in the game are a season-high and the three goals allowed are the team's second best defensive effort of 2010.
Wesley travels to top ranked Salisbury on Wednesday, March 31 at 4:00 PM.
