No. 1 Salisbury Shuts Down Wolverines

SALISBURY, Md. - Top ranked Salisbury scored the game's first 11 goals and cruised to a 20-1 win over a young Wesley College squad.

The Sea Gulls (12-0, 3-0 CAC) jumped ahead 11-0 behind four goals by Allie Wheatley before Brooke Bennett (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) got the Wolverines (5-4, 1-3 CAC) on the board with 12:15 left in the first half.

Salisbury added four more goals before the break to lead 14-1 at the half, then tacked on six more scores in the final 30 minutes.

In addition to her goal, Bennett also caused three turnovers for Wesley.

Wheatley finished with a game-high five goals.  Maggie Roundy matched her point total with one goal and four assists. 

Alyssa Batty (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) and Amanda Hudson (Frederica, Del./St. Thomas More) split time in goal for Wesley.  Batty had the Wolverines' only two saves of the game.

Wesley will look to rebound at Swarthmore on Thursday, April 1.
