DOVER, Del. - Nine different Wolverines scored and Wesley College closed the game with 15 unanswered goals in a 17-1 win over Lancaster Bible.
The Wolverines (7-5) opened the game with a pair of quick scores from Alyssa Prudente (Hereford, Md./Hereford) and Jen Jacobs (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) before the Chargers (3-7) cut the lead in half.
LBC's Rachel Warren scored to make it a 2-1 game with 21:13 left in the half, but that proved to be all for the Charger offense as Wesley held them off the scoreboard for the final 51:13 of play.
A pair of goals from Mia Brocco (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) in the final 30 seconds of the half aided the Wolverines to a 10-1 halftime advantage.
Wesley scored seven unanswered goals in the second half, including two free position scores by Chelsea Buttacavoli (Brick, N.J./Marlboro) to finish off Lancaster Bible.
Jacobs and Brocco led the Wolverines with three goals each. Meggan Apgar (Smyrna, Del./St. Thomas More), Prudente and Buttacavoli scored two each.
Brooke Bennett (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) added a goal, five ground balls, six draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Alyssa Batty (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) played the first 38 minutes in goal and made one save. Amanda Hudson (Frederica, Del./St. Thomas More) spent the final 22 minutes in net for Wesley.
Nicole Valinteno had five saves for the Chargers.
The Wolverines travel to nationally ranked Mary Washington on Friday, April 9.
