Wesley Falls to Mustangs

DOVER, Del. - Nationally ranked Stevenson jumped ahead 11-1 at the half and downed Wesley 17-3 in Capital Athletic Conference action.

The Mustangs (2-1, 2-0 CAC) jumped ahead 3-0 before a goal by Jen Jacobs () put the Wolverines on the board with 20:54 left in the half.  Stevenson closed the half with eight straight scores, including three of Leah Warner's game-high four goals, to take a 10-goal lead at the break.

Mia Brocco (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) and Jessica Franklin (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) notched second half goals for the Wolverines, but Emily Gartrell, Melissa Meiklejohn and Megan Weiss each scored twice for the Mustangs in the final 30 minutes.

Anna Baker (Rock Hall, Md./Saint Peter and Paul) and Alyssa Prudente (Hereford, Md./Hereford) each had assists for the Wolverines.

Weiss finished with a game-high six points after scoring three goals and assisting on three others.

Olivia Baker had four ground balls and five draw controls.

Alyssa Batty (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) stopped 10 shots for Wesley, while Jenny Schroeder made six stops for Stevenson.

Wesley is back in action on March 8, when the Wolverines take on Alvernia in Orlando, Florida.
