DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's women's lacrosse team scored a season-high 15 goals in a 15-10 victory over Notre Dame (Md.) on Wednesday afternoon at Scott D. Miller Stadium.  The Wolverines are now .500 on the season with a 2-2 record while the Gators fall to 0-1.

Alyssa Prudente led the way for Wesley, scoring five goals and two assists for seven points while Jen Jacobs recorded four scores of her own.  Jessica Franklin also had four points on a goal and three assists and Nina Cornog also had a multi-point day with two goals.

Notre Dame scored the first goal but Wesley went on a 5-2 run, three of the goals from Prudente, to take a 5-3 lead with 13:20 remaining in the first half.

The Gators then responded with four unanswered goals to regain a two-goal lead but scores by Cornog and Franklin ten seconds apart tied the score at seven with 2:09 left.  With just 35 ticks left in the opening period, Kirsten Ward found the back of the net on a free-position to give Wesley an 8-7 halftime lead.

Allison Terry (5g, 1a) provided the equalizer for the Gators just over four minutes into the second, but two straight scores by Prudente, followed by three-consecutive by Jacobs, helped the Wolverines to a 13-8 advantage with 16:52 left in regulation.

Both teams would trade goals and with 22 seconds remaining, Rylee Gould scored off a pass from Tristin Burris to make the score, 15-10.

The Wolverines narrowly outshot the Gators, 27-26 but held a 29-21 advantage on ground balls.  Defensively, Wesley forced 17 turnovers, led by Jorden Lutz (one goal) with four.  Cornog also caused three and controlled a game-high six draws.  Alyssa Batty tallied 11 saves for the Wolverines.

Next up for Wesley is Penn State-Abington on Saturday, March 10 at 4 pm at Scott D. Miller Stadium.
