Women’s Lacrosse Blows Past Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa. – Behind ten total points by Alyssa Prudente, Wesley College's women's lacrosse team defeated Rosemont, 15-2, on Wednesday afternoon.  The Wolverines are now 6-7 on the season.

A senior from Manchester, Md., Prudente scored three goals and matched her own Wesley single-game record with seven assists.  She also controlled four draws and added three ground balls.

Prudente got plenty of help offensively from a variety of teammates.  Jen Jacobs added four goals and an assist while Rylee Gould had a career-high four points on two goals and two assists. Jessica Franklin (3g) also notched a hat trick and Nina Cornog also found the back of the cage. Cornog registered a game-high six draw controls.

Registering their first career points were Tori Dunbar and Linnea Cavallo who added goals near the end of regulation.

Jacobs also made history as she eclipsed the 100-goal plateau with her third score of the contest.

Defensively, Alyssa Batty made seven saves in 51:10.  Katherine Cooke did not allow a goal in the final 8:50.  Elizabeth Groom led the Wolverines with three caused turnovers.

With 9:30 left in the first half, Wesley opened up a 10-0 lead to get the running clock started and Jacobs added another goal off a Prudente assist to give the Wolverines an 11-0 halftime advantage.

Gould scored the first goal of the second half just 21 seconds in to give Wesley a 12-0 lead before a pair of Ravens goals.

Franklin answered with a score at the 12:41 mark before Cavallo and Dunbar tickled the net with 5:45 and 43 seconds remaining, respectively.
