DOVER, Del. – Four-sport athlete Tristin Burris has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America® District II All-Academic At-Large team and will be a candidate for Academic All-America® honors later this month. To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, the student-athlete must be a key starter or reserve and maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point-average.
The women's sports that make up the Academic At-Large program are: Bowling, Crew, Fencing, Field Hockey, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Rifle, Skiing, Swimming, Tennis and Water Polo. District II is made up of all Division III schools in the States of Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Rhode Island, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
A junior from Camden, Del., Burris has maintained a 3.96 grade-point average in Media Arts while standing out at lacrosse, field hockey, cross country and track & field. She also played softball at Wesley as a freshman.
In the Fall, she started in all 22 field hockey contests and tallied four goals, one of which was the game-winner, and two assists for ten points. Burris also started in all 17 women's lacrosse games this Spring and tallied five goals and an assist for six points. She also was credited with 29 draw controls, 28 ground balls and ten caused turnovers.
