FROSTBURG, Md. – Despite rallying from an early four goal deficit to tie the game, the Wesley College women's lacrosse team fell at Capital Athletic Conference rival Frostburg State, 19-11 on Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.  The Wolverines fall to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the CAC while the Bobcats improve to 3-2 after a CAC-opening win.

Frostburg scored the games' first four goals, including its first just 19 seconds in, to take a 4-0 lead with 19:39 left in the first half. Four different players: Mia Brocco, Nina Cornog, Jen Jacobs and Tristin Burris, then scored goals and the match was then all square with 15:09 remaining in the period.

The Bobcats then went on a 8-0 run to close out the half to take a 12-4 lead into halftime. Jacobs and Brocco answered with two early goals in the second but four-straight Bobcats goals extended their lead to ten.

Wesley outscored Frostburg, 5-3 in the final 20-plus minutes but it was not enough to overtake the Red & Black.

Brocco (4g) and Cornog (1g, 3a) led the Wolverines with four points apiece while Jacobs also recorded a hat trick. Burris also scored twice and Jorden Lutz collected her first career multi-point game with a goal and an assist.
