Women’s Lacrosse Doubles Up Centenary (NJ)

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Wesley College's women's lacrosse team won its second-straight game with a 10-5 victory at Centenary (NJ) on Saturday afternoon.  The Wolverines now stand at 2-1 on the year while the Cyclones fall to 0-1.

Rylee Gould paced the Wolverines with five points on two goals and three assists while Kaitlin Brennan and Jessica Giaccone both had multi-goal efforts.  Brennan also had a team-high five draw controls as Khadijah Sanders picked a team-high five ground balls.

Wesley led from start to finish as Brennan, Nyi Wright and Gould found the back of the net on three-straight goals to open the game.  Following a Centenary goal, McKenzie Marvel responded with a goal, as did Brennan before the Cyclones cut the deficit to 5-2 just before the half.

Centenary opened the second period with a goal with 25:43 remaining but Giaccone sparked a 4-0 Wolverines run with two-straight scores, giving Wesley a 9-3 lead with just under nine minutes left, sealing the triumph.

Goalkeeper Savannah Clough earned the win once again in goal for Wesley with four saves. Rodneisha Scott and Francesca Benitez each caused two turnovers to lead the Navy & White.

The Wolverines will travel to Hilton Head for spring break where they will take on Manhattanville on Wednesday, March 11, followed by New England College on Thursday, March 12.
