Women’s Lacrosse Falls in Final Game Entering CAC Play

DALLAS, Pa. – Wesley College's women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-6 decision at Misericordia University of Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.  The Wolverines fall to 4-3 on the season while the Cougars move to 2-4 overall.

Mckenzie Marvel led Wesley with three points on two goals with an assist while Kaitlin Brennan scored an identical two goals.  Kaitlyn Ennis and Rylee Gould also found the back of the net for the Wolverines.

The first half was low scoring with Misericordia clinging to just a 5-1 lead.  The Cougars scored the first three goals of the game but Gould cut the deficit to just two, finding the back of the net with 11:06 left in the first half.

MU closed the period with two-straight and added two more to start the second, but Wesley got both of those back on back-to-back unassisted tallies by Marvel and Ennis just 23 seconds apart.

The Cougars then scored six-straight to extend their lead to 13-3, but that was short-lived as Marvel fed Brennan in front for a goal.  Brennan scored just under 40 seconds later with an assist by Ennis and Marvel rounded out the scoring for the day with 2:10 remaining off a pass from Francesca Benitez.

Ennis also led the Navy & White with a game-high five draw controls while Maddison Cypher was credited with four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.

In goal, Savannah Clough stopped 14 shots on the night and added a team-high five ground balls.

The Wolverines open Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday, March 21 when it hosts York (Pa.) in a 1 pm draw.
