Women's Lacrosse falls 19-2 at Frostburg State

FROSTBURG, Md. – Wesley College's women's lacrosse team fell in Capital Athletic Conference action to Frostburg State University, 19-2, on Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.  The Wolverines fall to 4-9 on the year and 0-6 in the CAC while the Bobcats improve to 9-6 overall with a 3-4 mark in league play.

Frostburg took the lead in the second minute of the game and scored the first 10 goals of the day before Wesley was able to get on the board.  Rylee Gould  was able to beat the goalkeeper with 9:33 remaining in the half. Less than a minute later, Kaitlin Brennan found the back of the net, cutting the deficit to 10-2 with just under nine minutes remaining in the first half. The Bobcats scored nine-straight times to close out the game.

Kaitlyn Ennis and Jessica Giaccone each grabbed two draw controls while Wesley goalie, Savannah Clough, picked up four ground balls.  Clough stopped eight shots in goal for the Wolverines. 

Frostburg got five points from Jessica Jones on two goals and three assists while four other Bobcats each garnered four points in the win. 

The Wolverines will host Gwynedd Mercy on Tuesday, April 14 at 7:00 PM.
