Fore powers Wesley over Gwynedd Mercy

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Wesley College women's lacrosse team cruised to a 22-10 victory over the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins on Saturday.

Four Wolverines netted three or more goals in the win. The Wolverines fell behind 3-0 just over three minutes into the game but the Wolverines went on a 17-4 scoring blitz in the first half to overtake the Griffins for good.

Sophomore Fallon Fore led the Wolverines with seven goals, five draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Fellow sophomores Bailey Olds, Brianna Bacon and Paige Brehm also recorded multiple-goal efforts for the Wolverines. Olds tallied five goals and two assists while Bacon and Brehm notched four and three goals respectively. Brehm also assisted on two goals.

Freshman Kathleen Martin registered two assists and a goal. Senior Kaitlin Brennan picked up three ground balls in the win.

Lauren Mitros paced the Griffins with three goals.

The Wolverines (2-0) will be back home on Saturday, March 4 when they host the Notre Dame Gators at Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium. Game time is at 4 p.m.
