Wesley sets winning streak record against Centenary

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Wesley College women's lacrosse team made history in the 19-5 win over the Centenary Cyclones on Wednesday.

Today's victory marks the first time in program history that the Wesley women's lacrosse team has won five consecutive games, breaking the previous mark of four straight wins set by this year's team and the 2009 team.

Ashley Luna paced the Wolverines with five goals, setting a new career-high. Luna also notched two assists and two ground balls in the win.

Fallon Fore and Paige Brehm each put away four goals and caused three turnovers. Fore picked up a game-high six ground balls and five draw controls. Brehm added four ground balls and an assist.

Maddison Cypher recorded a hat trick along with four ground balls and two assists. Allison Perugini tallied two goals while Brianna Bacon registered a goal and two assists.

Francesca Benitez caused four turnovers and scooped up two ground balls.

Shelby Schirmer made three saves in goal for the Wolverines.

Abby Voelkner led the Cyclones with four goals.

The Wolverines (5-0) will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Lancaster, Pa. on Saturday to take on the Lancaster Bible Chargers. The action is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
