Wesley women’s lacrosse celebrates alumni against Frostburg St.

DOVER, Del. - The Wesley College women's lacrosse team fell to the Frostburg State Bobcats in both teams' Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opener on Saturday.

Ashley Luna and Brianna Bacon both tallied two goals for the Wolverines in the loss. Bacon also scooped up two ground balls.

Fallon Fore, Maddison Cypher, Paige Brehm and Naomi Pitts-Reynolds each notched a goal while Cypher added an assist. Fore controlled nine draws for the Wolverines.

Rodneisha Scott and Shelby Schirmer paced the Wolverine defense. Scott recorded a game-high seven ground balls and four caused turnovers. Schirmer registered 11 saves in goal.

Nikki Hallikas had six goals and four assists for the Bobcats.

As part of the 18th anniversary of the first varsity game, the Wolverines honored returning members of the inaugural team at halftime.

The Wolverines (5-1, 0-1 CAC) will begin a five-game road stretch on Wednesday. They head down to Fredricksburg, Va. to take on the Mary Washington Eagles in a CAC contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
