Wesley stumbles against No. 16 Mary Washington

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Wesley College women's lacrosse team were downed on the road by the No. 16 ranked Mary Washington Eagles, 17-1 in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) game on Wednesday.

Maddison Cypher netted the lone Wolverine goal with 15:44 remaining in the second half off an assist by Kathleen Martin.

Paige Brehm corralled five draws while Fallon Fore picked up four ground balls. Brehm and Naomi Pitts-Reynolds each scooped up two ground balls.

Shelby Schirmer stopped six shots in goal for the Wolverines.

Mackenzie Maguire and Allison Davis both scored four times for the Eagles.

The Wolverines (5-2, 0-2 CAC) will head to Maryland on Saturday to take on the St. Mary's Seahawks in CAC action. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
