Brehm paces women’s lacrosse against St. Mary’s

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College women's lacrosse team was downed, 18-5 by the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks in the Wolverines' 2018 home finale on Wednesday.

Paige Brehm paced the Wolverines with four first-half goals along with five ground balls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Maddison Cypher recorded the other Wesley goal and caused two turnovers. Brianna Bacon assisted on one of Brehm's goals in the first half.

On defense, Francesca Benitez caused four turnovers. Shelby Schirmer tied a season-best with 14 saves in goal for the Wolverines. Schirmer added eight ground balls from the crease.

The Wolverines will wrap up their 2018 season on Saturday when they head down to Newport News, Va.  to take on the Christopher Newport Captains. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start from Captains Turf Field.
