Women’s lacrosse upended by Cabrini at home

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College women's lacrosse team stumbled to the Cabrini Cavaliers in an Atlantic East Conference contest, 22-5 at home Wednesday.

Kaila Hindt got Wesley on the board early when she scored off a feed from Paige Brehm just 50 seconds into the game, giving the Wolverines the 1-0 lead. Cabrini took the lead after back-to-back goals from Avery Murphy and Dana Carlson and never looked back.

Hindt and Brehm led Wesley with two goals each. Brehm also added an assist for a team-high five points in the loss. Kassie Dieter chipped in with a goal of her own in the second half.

Kathleen Martin and Brianna Bacon handed both tallied an assist each. Emily Caldarelli tallied a game-high six ground balls and five caused turnovers. Amanda Moccaldi caused three turnovers with four ground balls. 

Avery Murphy led Cabrini with eight goals.

Wesley will begin their two-game road trip when they head to Scranton, Pa. to take on the Marywood Pacers in an Atlantic East Conference match. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
