DeTore Leads Wesley Past PSU-Abington
ABINGTON, Pa. - Freshman Jessica DeTore scored two goals to lead the Wesley College women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Penn State-Abington in non-conference action.
DeTore (East Morick, N.Y./Center Moriches) scored her second and third goals of the season within a five-minute span to give the Wolverines command of the match. Senior Gina Orrben (Hockessin, Del./A.I. DuPont) assisted on the first score at 19:51, which proved to be the game-winner.
The score remained that way until sophomore Julia DeFelice (Tinton Falls, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) added the Wolverines (6-8) third and final goal in the 89th minute to seal the win.
Freshman Kim Fearnbach (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) made a pair of saves to pick up her fifth shutout.
Penn State-Abington fell to 1-7 with the loss.
Wesley will look to make it two in a row when Valley Forge Christian College visits on Saturday, October 18 at 6:00 PM.
