Defense Lifts Wesley to Win

DOVER, Del. - The Wesley College defense held Valley Forge Christian College without a shot and defenders Heather Johnson and Brielle Bogan each scored to lead the Wolverines to a 3-0 win.

Johnson's goal proved to be the game-winner at 36:07 and was the only goal of the first half.

Bogan scored just over three minutes into the second half as Wesley (7-8) stretched its lead to 2-0.

The goals were the first of the season for both players.

The Wolverines were awarded a penalty kick and Nicole Evans converted for her second goal of the season.

Kim Fearnbach picked up the easy shutout without making a save.  It was her sixth of the season.

The Patriots' (5-9-2) Kaitlyn Antolick had a busy evening in goal, but was up to the task most of the evening, making 24 saves.

Wesley hosts Lebanon Valley on October 22 at 7:00 PM.
