Mary Washington Edges Wolverines

DOVER, Del. - The University of Mary Washington scored twice in the second half to claim a 2-1 decision over Wesley College in Capital Athletic Conference women's soccer action.

Amy Olson had a hand in both Eagle (6-1-1, 1-1 CAC) goals.  Carly Davis took a deflection off the keeper and put it into the back of the net in the 60th minute as Olson was credited with the assist.

In the 83rd minute, Jenny Mayo crossed the ball from the left to Olson, who knocked in an insurance goal.

The Wolverines answered right back when Kim Fearnbach (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) was awarded a penalty kick only 38 seconds later and the Mary Washington keeper guessed wrong.

Sydney Kahan (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) was credited with three saves.  Wesley allowed 16 shots in the match, but only five went on net.

Tina Brehm made two saves for Mary Washington.

The Wolverines look to get back in the win column on Monday, September 26 when they travel to Valley Forge Christian College.
