FREDERICK, Md. - Wesley College's Stevi Carpenter (Lester, Pa./Interboro) scored her first career goal in the 24th minute, but two late goals by Hood gave the Blazers a 2-1 win over the Wolverines in Capital Athetic Conference women's soccer.
Carpenter took an assist from Lacey Smith (Logan Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) midway through the 24th minute to give the Wolverines a 1-0 lead at the half.
That led stood until Brittni Souder scored off an assist from Stevey Markovich in the 63rd minute. The Blazers completed the comeback with a dramatic score by Kristen Byers during the game's final minute to escape with the victory.
Sydney Kahan (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) made five saves for the Wolverines, while Kirsten Cacciola stopped six shots for Hood.
Both teams had 11 shots in the contest. Wesley had six corners, however, compared to just one for the Blazers.
The Wolverines are back in action on October 22 against Frostburg St.
