GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Wesley College's women's soccer team's undefeated streak came to an end as it dropped a 2-1 decision at Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday afternoon. The Wolverines are now 3-1-1 on the season while the Griffins improve to 2-2.
Kelly Edmunds put the Wolverines on top with a breakaway goal just seconds into the second half.
The Griffins tied the score on a goal by Maura Gifford in the 54th minute, and she also assisted on the game-winner in the 61st minute with a cross that was finished by Meghan Bojanowski.
Sydney Kahan made four saves in goal for the Wolverines, who were outshot by a narrow 11-8 margin. Both teams took four corner kicks.
The Wolverines are back in action tomorrow when they take on Delaware Valley in a neutral site contest at 10 am.
