GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Wesley College's women's soccer team outshot Delaware Valley, but was unable to pull off a win as the Aggies defeated the Wolverines, 2-1, in overtime on Sunday morning. Wesley falls to 3-2-1 with the loss while Delaware Valley evens its record at 2-2.
After the Aggies took a 1-0 lead just under a minute into the second half, Kerri Pagels delivered with the equalizer with a 25-yard blast in the 75th minute.
Neither team was able to score in the final 15 minutes of regulation as the Wolverines held a 17-7 shot advantage through 90 minutes of play.
The Aggies took the only shot of the overtime period and that was all they needed as Chelsea Neves-Carr found the back of the net at 92:58.
Sydney Kahan made four saves for Wesley while Julie Burnell stopped nine shots for Delaware Valley.
The Wolverines return to action on Thursday, September 13, when they host Marymount (Va.) in their Capital Athletic Conference opener at 7 pm.
