Women’s Soccer Blanked at Mary Washington

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Wesley College women's soccer team lost at Mary Washington, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon.  With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 5-5-1 overall and 1-2 in the Capital Athletic Conference while the Eagles improve to 7-1-1 on the year and 1-1-1 in league play.

Mary Washington scored a pair of first half goals, with the game-winner coming at 13:26 off the foot of Adrian Newcomb.  Jessica Bednarcik got credit for the assist on the play and finished with three assists and a goal on the day.

Senior Sydney Kahan made nine saves while allowing four goals in the first 60:50 of the matchup, before giving way to freshman Samantha Brannigan, who stopped seven shots and allowed a goal in the final 29:10.

Wesley returns home on October 6, when it hosts Penn College in a 6 pm kickoff.
