DOVER, Del. – A dominant defensive effort helped Wesley College to a 2-0 victory over Penn College of Technology on Saturday night at Scott D. Miller Stadium. The Wolverines improve to 6-5-1 on the season while the Wildcats fall to 7-2-1.
Wesley allowed Penn to take just two shots on the night, none of which were on goal, allowing goalkeeper Sydney Kahan to earn her fourth clean sheet of the season.
Chelsi Biener recorded the game-winner at 21:09 with a boot from the 18 that sailed just over the outstretched arms of Penn goalkeeper Reda Vermilya. Samantha Lyon was credited with the assist on the play, her first of two on the night.
Karysa Pikoulas added an insurance goal for the Wolverines in the 81st minute.
Vermilya made nine stops for the Wildcats to keep them in the match.
The Wolverines return to action on October 10 when they host Valley Forge Christian at 7 pm.
