Women’s Soccer Defeats Valley Forge Christian

DOVER, Del. – Six different players scored goals as the Wesley College women's soccer team defeated Valley Forge Christian, 7-0 on Wednesday night at Scott D. Miller Stadium.  The Wolverines improve to 7-5-1 on the year while the Patriots fall to 1-13-1.

Karysa Pikoulas tallied a goal and added two assists to lead the Navy & White while Kerri Pagels also scored on a pair of chances. Also finding the back of the net for Wesley was Samantha Lyon, Chelsi Biener, Chelsea Marriner and Megan DeFalco.

Lyon was credited with the game-winner at 1:33 as Pikoulas fed her a ball which she booted from 20 yards out just over goalkeeper Amanda McGinness. Pikoulas also assisted on Wesley's next goal off the feet of Biener in the 18th minute.

Pagels then scored on a pair of unassisted goals before Pikoulas scored with 1:09 left in the first half off a pass from Morgan Warrington.

With a 5-0 halftime advantage, Wesley relented on the attack by Marriner and DeFalco scored on unassisted goals at 60:52 and 64:01, respectively.

Sydney Kahan and Samantha Brannigan split halves in goal with Brannigan stopping one shot.

McGinness made 19 saves for the Patriots, who were outshot, 41-3.

Wesley travels to take on Frostburg State on October 13 for a 4:30 Capital Athletic Conference matchup.
