Women’s Soccer Edges Cairn 2-1

LANGHORNE, PA – The Wesley College women's soccer team edged Cairn 2-1 Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.

With the win, the Wolverines improve to 2-0-1 while the Highlanders fall to 0-1.

Wesley got off to a quick start, when Morgan Warrington's shot from 20 yards out found the net in the seventh minute. The Wolverines held on to the 1-0 lead going into the break.

In the second half, Cairn got a score off the foot of Laurisa Wager to tie the game at one apiece. But, a goal by Kerri Pagels was enough to solidify a 2-1 Wesley victory.

Samantha Brannigan had five saves in the net for Wesley while Sara Poole collected four saves for the Highlanders.

Wesley returns to action Saturday when they host Swarthmore at 7:00 p.m.
