Aleya Cummings Named CAC Offensive Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. - After leading the Wesley College Women's Soccer team to a pair of wins last week, freshman forward Aleya Cummings was named Capital Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Cummings secured CAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after continuing her torrid start to the year with two goals in each of the Wolverines' victories last week. Cummings scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Rosemont and led Wesley to a 3-0 trumph over Lehman, registering the game-winning tallies in both contests. Against Lehman, the first-year forward opened the game with a goal just 1:07 into the contest. In the second half, the Dover native bent a 25-yard free kick past the wall and in to increase the lead. With 12 goals on the year, she currently leads the CAC and the nation in scoring.

Cummings and the Wesley Women's Soccer team will seek to continue their modest winning streak when they face off against Hood College on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7:00 p.m. in Dover.
