Wesley upended in opener against Washington

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College women's soccer team fell in their season opener on Friday night at Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium to the Washington Shorewomen, 4-0.

Sophomore Aline Check put the lone Wesley shot on goal in the 38th minute of the first half. Junior Janiah Moore, sophomore Aleya Cummings and freshman Amanda Moccaldi each tallied a shot.

Freshman goalkeeper Krista Salvadore made six stops in between the pipes for the Wolverines.

Olivia Sabatino scored a goal and an assist for the Shorewomen.

The Wolverines (0-1) will be back in action after Labor Day weekend when they head north to take on the Immaculata Mighty Macs on Wed., Sept. 6. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
