Salvadore named CAC Defensive Player of the Week

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Wesley College women's soccer freshman goalkeeper Krista Salvadore was named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 11, 2017.

Salvadore made 17 saves and secured two wins in net for the Wolverines last week. Salvadore's top performance of the week came against Immaculata, as she stopped 11 shots and recorded her first career clean sheet. She also made a penalty-kick save in the first half against Rosemont to preserve Wesley's win against the Ravens.

For the week, she posted a save percentage of .895% and a 1.00 goals against average in 180 minutes of work. So far this season, Salvadore is tied for second in the CAC in saves (23) and fourth in save percentage (.793).

The Wolverines (2-1) will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Towson, Md. to take on the Goucher Gophers. Game time is at 7 p.m.
