Back-and-forth match goes against women’s soccer vs. PSU-Harrisburg

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College women's soccer team fell short, 3-2, to the Penn St.-Harrisburg Lions in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest on Wednesday.

The Lions scored first with a goal from Erica Hile in the 18th minute. The Wolverines would answer back in the 32nd minute when Janiah Moore would play a ball through from the midfield to Aleya Cummings, who would then go one-on-one with the Lion goalkeeper and find the back of the net to tie up the game before the halftime break.

The Wolverines took the lead two minutes in the second half when Megan Shacklock scored off an assist by Amanda Moccaldi.

Nine minutes later, the Lions would tie the game up when Raquel Grice scored. Then, the Lions would take the lead in the 74th minute when Kristen Stark won a ball in the air off a clearance and put it in the net.

Krista Salvadore tallied 10 saves in net for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines are back in action Saturday. Oct. 14 when they host the Mary Washington Eagles in a CAC game at Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium. Kickoff of the homecoming soccer match is set for 7:30 p.m.
