How it happened

The Wolverines took on Cabrini on Wednesday night for a home contest to continue their 2019 season. The night was not ideal for a soccer game as it was very wet, very cold and very rainy but that did not stop the Wolverines as they fought to the end to pull off a 2-1 win.

The first half of the game started out slow up until the last 15 minutes when Cabrini's number 2 Maddy Wojton scored assisted by number nine Katelyn Gilinger.

The remainder of the first half the Wolverines found many opportunities to score but could not pull through leaving the score 0-1 Cabrini, heading into the half.

Wesley was the first to strike in the second half with a deep wind-carrying goal scored by number 32 Kaitlyn Roazzi, her third goal of the season. The goal was assisted by number four Allison Backert

Mackenzie Forsythe found Emily Caldarelli in the last 13 minutes of game allowing Caldarelli to work her magic and score the game winning goal, 2-1.

Comment from the coach

"We kept battling the whole game, Cabrini came out great in the second half and played really well and got on top of us. Defensively we stayed organized and composed until we were able to get a break score and then a few minutes later with Mackenzie getting the ball to Emily for a great finish. It was a great team win and great team effort. We are looking forward to another big game as we head to Immaculata on Saturday".
