Dover, Del. - The Wesley Women's soccer team took home field for the first time this season against the Marymount Saints. The Wolverines were eager to get back on the field and play one of their final few games in a Wesley uniform.
The Wolverines had trouble touching the ball through the first half with the shocking performance by the Saints keeping the ball away from Wesley's players. The first half ended with neither team scoring a single goal.
The Wolverines and Saints went back and forth with each other getting the ball into a position where goals could be scored. Still, neither team was able to find the back of the net.
With the clock quickly running down in regulation, both teams were rushing to try and score. They came close, but the game ended up heading into overtime.
Just thirty seconds into overtime, the Saints managed to steal the ball from the Wolverines and score. Sita Nair hit from far away to score, putting Marymount up to win the game.
The Wolverines will travel to Marymount on Saturday, March 20th, to take on the Saints once more. Kickoff is set for 1pm.
