Women's Tennis Looks to Rebound in 2006
DOVER, De. - The Wesley College women's tennis team, under the direction of second year head coach Elise Coar, returns five letter-winners from the 2005 squad and welcomes three newcomers for 2006.  The Wolverines finished with a 0-13 overall and 0-11 conference mark last year and look to rebound in 2006.  "With five returning players from last year and three new solid recruits, I anticipate improvement in both singles and doubles," commented coach Coar.

After suffering through the winless season of 2005, the returning players gained valuable experience and look to progress further with the addition of Maria Rodriguez (FR, Seaford, DE/Seaford), Mellisa Torres (FR, Viola, DE/Lake Forest) and Amanda Hall (SR, Rancocas, NJ/Rancocas).  Amy Winstanley (Warwick, Bermuda/Warwick), the 2005 Most Valuable Player, returns after posting Wesley's only wins in singles points last year.  Lauren Chwastyk (SR, Delran, NJ/Holy Cross) and Melissa Cameron (SR, Baltimore, MD/Western) are the Wolverines' most experienced returning doubles team and will help anchor a much more skilled Wolverine team.  "The players all look very good in pre-season and I expect to improve from last year's campaign," stated coach Coar.
