Stevenson Tops Wesley 6-3

DOVER, Del. - Wesley College dropped a closely contested match to Stevenson in Capital Athletic Conference action 6-3.

The Wolverines (0-2) got wins at first and second singles from Rebecca Pennington (Earleville, Md./Bohemia Manor) and Kori Isken (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's).  Pennington was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at first singles, with Isken following suit at second singles, 6-3, 6-3.

Pennington was 2-0 on the day, teaming with Marina Palma for an 8-1 win at first doubles.

Two other singles matches went to a third set.  Palma won the first set at third singles before ultimately falling 6-3, 2-6, 4-6.  At fourth singles, Julia Wright (Wall, N.J./Wall) dropped the first set, but rebounded to force a decisive third set before bowing 3-6, 6-2, 4-6.

The Wolverines are back in action on March 25 with a road trip to Division I Maryland Eastern Shore.
