PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Wesley College swept all nine matches from Division I Maryland Eastern Shore in non-conference action.
The Wolverines (3-2) picked up three wins in which they did not drop a game. Kori Isken (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) and Stephanie Bentley (Fillmore, N.Y./Fillmore Central) were 8-0 winners at second doubles against Joycelyn Jackman and Kira Chapman. Then in singles play, Marina Palma (Lanham, Md./Duvall) bested Alisia Belt 8-0 in a pro set after Caitlin Grinstead (Dover, Del./Dover) took down Anna Katenta at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Rebecca Pennington (Earleville, Md./Bohemia Manor) and Isken needed three sets to pick up wins at first and second singles. Bentley won at third singles and Julia Wright (Manasquan, N.J./Wall) earned a victory at sixth singles.
Pennington and Palma teamed for a win at first doubles and Wright and Grinstead won at third doubles.
The win is Wesley's third of the year, the most since the 2003-04 season.
The Wolverines travel to Hood on April 8.
