Brooks Tabbed CAC Athlete of the Week

YORK, Pa. - Wesley College freshman Tiara Brooks (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Track & Field Athlete Of The Week after setting a pair of records at the Rowan Open.

Brooks broke the school records in both the 100-meter and the 200-meter dashes at the meet. Brooks ran the 200-meter in 28.02, over 0.7 seconds faster than the old record. She followed it up with a 13.77 in the 100-meter, edging the old school record of 13.84 in the event in the second year of the program at the Division III level.

Brooks is the first Wesley woman to win the Track & Field Athlete of the Week honor this season after the Wolverines won a pair of weekly honors last season.

The freshman and her Wesley teammates will compete next at the CAC Championships at Mary Washington on April 18.
