Burris' Mile At CAC’s Sets School Record

FAIRFAX, Va. – Junior Tristin Burris set a school record in the Mile at the inaugural Capital Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday afternoon at the George Mason University Fieldhouse.  The Wolverines finished seventh overall.

A junior from Camden, Del., Burris ran a 5:40 flat Mile to best her own school-record mark by over three seconds.  Her time finished ninth overall which tied her for the best individual performance by a Wolverine on the day.  Shakeiya Marshall placed ninth in the 60m (8.56).

Wesley tallied a point in the 4x400m Relay with a time of 4:51.13.  Burris anchored the event, following Twila McCrea, Sherleen Sabin and Sharis Allen.

With the conclusion of the indoor portion of Wesley's schedule, the first outdoor meet for the Wolverines is scheduled for March 24 at the Golden Ram Invitational in West Chester, Pa.
