Allen Finishes Third in 100m Hurdles

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Highlighted by a third place performance in the 100m hurdles by Sharis Allen, Wesley College's women's track & field team opened the outdoor portion of its schedule at the Golden Ram Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Allen finished the 100m hurdles in 16.54 and she also led off the fifth-place performing 4x100 relay team.  Following her on the relay team was Tamisha Thomas, Shakeiya Marshall and Twila McCrea.  Allen capped off the day by placing 13th in the long jump with a 4.25m effort.

Thomas, Marshall and McCrae were also busy in individual sprints on the day.  McCrea led the Wolverines in two events with a 1:05.01 performance in the 400m while placing ninth in the 200m (28.57). Marshall finished the 100m in 14.03 while Thomas crossed the finish of the 400m hurdles in 1:15.91.

Making her collegiate debut, Karima Mims-Dewitt had a 6.22m toss in the shot put.

The Wolverines are back on the track next week when they compete at the two-day Danny Curran Invitational on March 30-31 in Chester, Pa.
