Thomas Wins 100 Hurdles at CACs

FROSTBURG, Md. - Tamisha Thomas was victorious in the 100m hurdles to highlight an impressive day for the Wesley College women's track & field team at the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Championships at Bobcat stadium on Sunday afternoon.  Including Thomas' victory, the Wolverines broke five school-records to finish sixth overall.

A sophomore from Philadelphia, Pa., Thomas took the gold in the 100m hurdles in a time of 15.21, besting her own school-record that she set earlier this season.  She also bested her own Wesley record in the 400m hurdles (1:11.77) and ran the second leg of a record-breaking 4x100m Relay (51.57).  Joining her in the relay were Sharis Allen, Shakeiya Marshall and Twila McCrea.

Allen, Marshall and McCrea also ran the first three legs of the 4x400 Relay which shattered the old Wesley mark by nearly ten seconds in 4:25.67.  Anchoring the relay was Tristin Burris.

Also breaking an individual school-record was Arvantis Smith, who placed third in the high jump with a 1.52m effort. The sophomore from Lincoln, Del., also placed sixth in the triple jump (10.08m).

Marshall also had a great showing in the 100m dash as her 13.35 performance was good for third overall.
