YORK, Pa. – Wesley College's Kiona Mency has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first weekly honor of Mency's career and she is the second women's Wolverine to earn a CAC weekly award this season, joining her high school teammate Elizsha Streeter who received the honor last week.
A freshman from Hagerstown, Md., Mency broke the CAC-record in the 60m Dash with a time of 7.87 which ranks her 11th in the Nation. Mency also established new school-records in the 200m Dash (26.22) and in the 4x400m Relay (4:12.75). Joining Mency on the relay was Streeter, junior Stevi Carpenter and sophomore Kerri Pagels. Mency's 200m time also puts her in the Top 20 in NCAA Division III.
Mency and the Wolverines return to the track on Saturday, February 8 for the Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Ursinus College.
