BALTIMORE, Md. - The Wesley College Women's Indoor Track and Field team took a handful of individuals to compete in the University of Maryland Eastern Shore College Lid-Lifter over the weekend, showcasing several Division I teams.
Quadira Minus finished 13th overall in the 200m recording a time of 27.93. She also ran in the 400m, taking seventh overall with a 1:03.33 finish. Courtney Williams made her debut alongside Minus in the 400m, taking ninth with a 1:05.32 time.
Four Wolverines ran the 800m, finishing fifth, sixth, eighth, and ninth overall. Dieunise Desir, Danae Carter, Chiquita Deline and Mercedes Myrick each crossed in 2:26.36, 2:30.32, 2:32.44, and 2:35.81, respectively. Desir also ran the 3000m, finishing second overall with an 11:47.95.
Lekeshia Brown-Myrick finished 11th overall in the 60m hurdles. The freshman made her debut with the Wolverines posting a 10.11 finishing time.
The Wesley 4x400m relay team took 10th overall, with Deline, Carter, Williams, and Minus combining to run a 4:18.82.
In the field, Brown-Myrick finished as the top Wolverine in the long jump with a mark of 5.15m while Kyra Wesby and Williams leaped 4.25m and 4.23m respectively. In the triple jump, Brown-Myrick reached a distance of 10.11m as well.
Sophomore thrower Jourdyn Beverly had a solid showing in her two events, placing third in the shot put with a toss of 11.74m and sixth in the weight throw with a 13.69m heave. Zekiah Fountain finished with a 9.47m throw in the shot put while Nicole Evanko tossed the weight 10.76m for an eighth place finish.
Wesley will take off over the holiday break to train and will return to action on January 21 at the Terrapin Invitational.
