Cole, Kalieta, Sloboh qualify for 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Evelina Sloboh, Thomas Kalieta Jr. and Kai Cole will represent Wesley College at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will take place on March 8 and 9 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Mass.

Cole enters his first national meet as the top seed in the 200-meter dash and the second seed in the 60-meter dash. Cole's school record time of 21.40 seconds in the 200 meters and 6.79 seconds in the 60 dash were achieved at the Boston University Last Chance on Feb. 23.

Kalieta qualified for his second NCAA Championship and will compete in the 200- and 400-meter dashes. Kalieta earned the third seed in the 200 with a time of 21.43 seconds which he achieved at the Boston University Last Chance on Feb. 23. He is the sixth seed in the 400-meter dash, clocking in with a school record time of 47.97 seconds from the Navy Select on Feb. 8.

A veteran of the national championships, Sloboh will run at the meet for the third time in her career. She enters the meet as the second seed in the 60-meter dash with a school record time of 7.60 seconds, which was broken at the Navy Select on Feb. 8.

For each men's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women's individual event contested, including the pentathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.
