Sloboh Places First in Two Categories as Track & Field Competes at Monmouth Winter Invitational

West Long Branch, N.J. - Wesley College Men's and Women's Track & Field competed in the Monmouth University Winter Invitational Saturday, Feb. 15th. 

For the women, Evelina Sloboh finished first in both the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. For the 60 meter, she finished in 7.83 seconds and forthe 200 she finished in 26.03 seconds. 

For the men, Tayvon Williams finished 17th in the 60 meter with a time of 7.32 seconds. Mike Brewer coming in 34th at 7.54 seconds, behind Brewer was Ricode Washington finishing in 8.10 which was good for  49th. 

Williams also ran the 200 meter dash in 23.46 which was good for 7th place. Antoine Collins right coming in 8th at 23.49 seconds. Taz'Mire Burton finished in 23.71, good for 11th. Ian Thorne finished in 24.29 (24th),  Brewer finished in 24.85 (31st), Justin Cowgill coming in at 25.37 (38th) and Washington finished in 26.64 seconds placing him in 44th place. 

The day did not end for Collins or Burton as they both also ran the 400 meter dash. Burton ran the 400 in 52.60, good for 7th place, while Collins came in 9th at 53.20.

Senior Rex Chege was the lone Wolverine to partake in the 1000 meter run. He finished in 16th with a time of 3:38.26. 

The Wolverines will travel down to the Navy Select on Friday, Feb. 21st.
