Two-Seed Salisbury Too Much for Wesley

DOVER, Del. - Wesley's 2007 season came to an end in the quarterfinals of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) tournament with a 3-0 loss at Salisbury, Tuesday night.  Game scores were 30-19, 30-24 and 30-11.

Lori Vorhees and Nettie Choice led Wesley with five kills apiece.  Sonila Doda added a pair of aces.

Wesley kept things close in game one, as the score stood tied at 12-12 and the Wolverines still trailed just 19-16 when the Sea Gulls ran off six straight points to take control of the game.

The seventh seeded Wolverines, making an appearance in the CAC tournament in their first year in the conference, played their best volleyball of the evening in game two, staying point for point with the CAC's No. 2 seed.  Wesley led as late as 17-16 before ultimately bowing 30-24.

Salisbury used a 9-2 run in game three to quickly turn an 11-7 game into a lopsided 30-11 final and take the match, earning a trip to the CAC semifinals.

With the loss, Wesley finishes the regular season with a record of 11-12, a three and a half game improvement on 2006, and set a school record for wins.
