Wesley Wins Sixth Straight

DOVER, Del. - Wesley College ran its winning streak to six with a four-set win over visiting Ursinus. 

The first three sets were all hotly contested.  The Wolverines (7-3) won 26-24 and 25-21 before the Bears (3-7) took the third set 26-24.  Wesley then dominated the fourth set to take the match, 25-12.

In the first set, Wesley trailed 23-20 before rallying to take the game after a timeout.  The second set saw the Wolverines trailing early before Lilia Brekke served up four aces to reclaim the lead for the Wolverines. 

After the Bears were victorious in set three, Wesley came out firing in the fourth set, doubling up Ursinus 25-12.

Brekke finished with 13 kills and six aces and 11 digs.  Nettie Choice had eight kills and five blocks.  Kristen Roberts notched nine kills and seven digs. 

The Wolverines will look to continue their winning ways on Friday, September 19 with a tri-match against Rosemont and Trinity (D.C.).  Game time against the Ramblers is set for 3:00 PM, with the match against the Tigers at 7:00 PM.
